- Our origin -

from a student project to success

In the winter semester 2015, the story of the uibk shop begins. Initially, the first steps were taken as part of an entrepreneurship course in the Master’s programme in Strategic Management at the University of Innsbruck. In December 2015, for the first time hoodies with a mountain motif and the lettering “University of Innsbruck” were sold.

Interest in products related to Innsbruck University was high. After the entrepreneurship course also came to an end in the 2015 winter semester, the resulting project of a shop for university fan articles threatened to get stuck in children’s shoes. As a 100% subsidiary of the University of Innsbruck, we, iui – innsbruck university innovations, were allowed to take on this very interesting project and continue working on a concept for the uibk shop.

- And now? -

continuous improvement out of passion

A lot has happened in the meantime: Our product range has grown from one hoodie at the beginning to 15 different products with a total of more than 150 product variants. Beside the Hoodie there are different T-Shirts and tops, caps, belts, bags and sweatpants in different colors and sizes.  We are constantly trying to develop and improve ourselves. Hence our motto:

“More than merchandise shop”

- Our principles -

That is what we stand for

SUSTAINABLE

Our shirts and hoodies are fair trade and made of organic cotton. We also want to develop further in the direction of sustainability with each new expansion of our product range.

REGIONAL

Although we have not yet succeeded in regional sourcing for all products, our belt is manufactured in a small belt factory – “Sanders Books&Belts” – here in Innsbruck. We are particularly proud of this.

INNOVATIVE

With the collection from summer 2017 we have for the first time included a new and innovative fabric, which our shirts are made of, in our assortment. The fabric is made of beech wood here in Austria using a process that is unique in the world.
